This month, the Le Triangle Group is featured in the latest issue of *Capital*. This gives us an opportunity to look back at the group’s exceptional growth and its involvement in the French solar market.
The Triangle's Long-Standing Expertise
The Capital article highlights the long-standing expertise of the Le Triangle Group, the parent company of Triangle Horizon.
A specialist in steel framing since its founding in the 1990s, the group went on to establish itself as the French leader in solar energy for the agricultural market beginning in 2009. Today, the group accounts for 10% of the French solar market.
In 2015, Le Triangle expanded with the creation of its subsidiary, Triangle Horizon. This expansion was driven by our desire to go even further and offer solar solutions as a subcontractor for major clients on larger-scale projects.
Triangle Horizon: A Leader in Steel Construction and Photovoltaics
Triangle Horizon, a subsidiary of the Le Triangle Group, now plays a crucial role in bringing our most ambitious projects to fruition. We apply our expertise in the manufacturing and construction of solar power plants on behalf of green electricity producers and renewable energy experts.
We stand out thanks to our comprehensive control over the production process—a capability that is unique in France. From design to the fabrication of metal structures, through to the installation and commissioning of solar panels, our in-house expertise enables us to meet the highest standards. Operating both in France and internationally, we are now one of France’s leading companies in the construction of solar shade structures, working on solar farms, parking lot shade structures, and solar-powered buildings.
We are proud to hold ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certifications, which attest to our industrial and operational excellence and our commitment to the environment. These standards reinforce our reputation as a major player, with a proven track record in project management and a commitment to sustainable practices.
The Triangle Shines at the Heart of the Energy Transition
The Growth of the French and European Markets
The European solar market is experiencing remarkable growth. Compared to the 40 GW of solar capacity installed in 2022, a significant increase of 55.9 GW was recorded in 2023.
This growth brings the EU's total solar capacity to 263 GW, marking a 27% increase from the previous year's 207 GW.
France, too, is actively contributing to this positive trend. According to the latest data from Enedis, more than 3 GW of additional capacity was installed in France in 2023. These figures represent a 30% increase over the previous year, bringing the total to more than 17 GW.
Exceptional growth to meet market needs
Building on this promising momentum, Le Triangle aims to further strengthen its market position. The Capital article highlights the group’s exceptional achievements in 2023, including the processing of 25,000 metric tons of steel for the installation of 190 MW of solar capacity. The group has surpassed the symbolic milestone of one gigawatt of installed capacity since our entry into the photovoltaic market in 2009. These figures illustrate Le Triangle’s meteoric growth, from a family-owned business to a major player in the French solar sector, while maintaining our commitment to customer proximity and support—values that are dear to us.
These remarkable results would not be possible without the contribution of our subsidiary, Triangle Horizon. With significant revenue growth of more than 30% in 2023, Triangle Horizon—backed by a substantial investment of 4 million euros from the group—plays a central role in our expansion. Since its founding in 2015, the subsidiary has accumulated an installed capacity of 480 MW, demonstrating its significant contribution to our market position.
Toward a Controlled Ascent
Our feature in *Capital* magazine not only signifies recognition of our expertise but also highlights the promising path ahead. With ambitious goals—including reaching one billion euros in revenue by 2030—we continue to strengthen our position in existing markets while meeting growing demand.
The Le Triangle Group, with the support of Triangle Horizon, continues to recruit across all areas of operation to support this controlled and sustainable growth. Triangle Horizon is also actively seeking new project partners to support its development and expand its scope of operations.
